This is the business, not the hobby.

Carroll Baker has taught after school magic programs for around fifteen years and enrichment days and summer camps for about ten. It earns him an extra twenty thousand a year, and it feeds the rest of the business, because every child in a class has a parent and a birthday.

It started by accident. A parent at one of his birthday shows asked him to teach a few tricks to her son and his friends. Another parent in the room ran her school's aftercare program. That became one hour a week for six weeks, and the first sessions were barely profitable. The book is what he learned turning that into a real income stream.

It answers the questions that actually stop people, and most of them are not about magic. Who at a school do you even call. What do you charge. Do you need an LLC. What about the background check, the fingerprinting, the W-9, the insurance. There is a sample letter you can send and a sample full day camp laid out hour by hour.

And there is a chapter on what NOT to teach, which may be the most useful in the book. Thumb tips, invisible thread, cut and restored rope, double lifts. Most of his students are kindergarten through fifth grade with hands too small to hold a deck properly, and a thumb tip will not even fit them.
