Leftovers was a methods book. The patter lived in my mouth instead of on the page, and the question I heard most often was why the sponge bunnies had a full script and the other twenty-three routines did not.
Second Helpings is the other half. Every routine in Leftovers, in the same order, with the words that go with it: what the audience sees, the frame that holds the routine together, the script, and where the words are doing real work.
Every line is labeled, because you have a right to know which is which. ALREADY IN LEFTOVERS marks lines reprinted word for word from the original book. NEW HERE marks patter written for this companion, built out of the routines as Leftovers describes them. And one line comes from a fellow working magician, David Brizius, with his name on it.
